On February 21, the President of Uzbekistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on strengthening military security and state defense.

The meeting was attended by members of the Security Council, heads of ministries and departments of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan, district commanders, as well as chairmen of the Jokargy Kenes and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan from local studios, khokims of regions and Tashkent city, as well as officials of local authorities.

At the beginning of the meeting, the work done to strengthen the country's defense capabilities and their results, as well as some shortcomings, were highlighted.

It was noted that the national army is being supplied with modern weapons and equipment, and the combat and morale of military personnel has significantly increased.

Based on world experience and analysis, new combat units have been created to prevent and eliminate internal and external threats, and the composition of the troops has been optimized.

It was noted that the new system of modernization and modern armament of the army - the defense industry - has been further developed, and additional enterprises have been established. It was noted that the Armed Forces have established bilateral military cooperation with more than 20 countries, and high performance has been achieved in more than 400 joint exercises.

The infrastructure of military universities within the Armed Forces has been completely modernized, and the curriculum and methodology have been adapted to today's requirements.

Social and legal protection of servicemen and their family members is also being strengthened. In particular, about 30 thousand families have been provided with housing, and over the past year, more than 2 thousand children of military personnel have been granted privileges for admission to higher educational institutions.

Military-administrative sectors, state and public organizations are also participating in creating conditions for defenders of the homeland. Increased attention is being paid to educating young people in the spirit of patriotism, and to providing them with initial military training in schools before conscription.

The meeting set out priority tasks for 2025 and the coming years.

It was emphasized that when determining the priority areas for the development of the national army, it is necessary to take into account modern armed conflicts, existing threats to security and the characteristics of the theater of military operations.

Currently, artificial intelligence, robots, missiles, drones and means to counter them are widely used in various regional conflicts. Based on this, it was noted that it is necessary to create new units in the troops to combat drones and combat them, use cyber structures working with artificial intelligence, robotic equipment, and air defense.

The President, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces emphasized the need to ensure the combat readiness of the Armed Forces, further improve combat readiness indicators, create a single automated command system of troops based on artificial intelligence, and use dual training in military training and training of military personnel.

Important tasks such as improving the activities of the army's pillar, the Sergeant Major Corps, further developing the defense industry, providing social support to servicemen and their family members, educating young people in the spirit of patriotism, and directing them to the field of military sports, were defined.

At the meeting, reports and proposals of the Minister of Defense, military district commanders and other officials were heard.
