In accordance with the requirements of the legislation of Uzbekistan, the use of the Temu platform will be restricted in the established manner from March 20. This was reported by the press service of the Tax Committee.
It is noted that only legal entities - residents of Uzbekistan - can operate as operators of e-commerce, in particular, operators of e-commerce platforms.
"During the study of the activities of foreign e-commerce platforms serving citizens of our country, it was revealed that some e-commerce platforms do not comply with the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of e-commerce, retail trade, advertising, protection of personal data, protection of consumer rights, copyright and related rights.
Based on the above, in accordance with the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, from March 20, 2025, the use of foreign electronic trading platforms, in particular the Temu platform, will be restricted in the established manner,” the report says.
In order to avoid misunderstandings, the Committee asked not to place orders on the Temu platform from today.
“If the order was made before, it is recommended to organize a refund on the platform,” the report added.
The National Agency for Promising Projects and the Tax Committee called on citizens not to use the services of foreign electronic trading platforms that have not localized their activities in Uzbekistan or are not included in the Tax Committee’s list of foreign companies and marketplaces providing electronic services in the country, to take precautionary measures, and not to provide personal and other information to such entities.
