Birth rate falls and death rate rises in Uzbekistan
In January–June 2025, Uzbekistan recorded 405,500 births, Uz24 reported. This is 14,400 fewer than in the same period in 2024. Of the newborns, 51.7% were boys (209,600) and 48.3% were girls (195,900).

Over the same half-year period, 84,100 people died, which is 2,700 more than in the first half of last year. Authorities are closely monitoring these demographic changes.
