Aftermath of the fire at the 'Aviasozlar' market in Tashkent, trade continues

A fire incident occurred at the "Aviasozlar" market located in the Yashnobod district of Tashkent city on the night of December 13. The report of the incident was received at 1:30 AM, and rescuers promptly arrived on the scene within four minutes at 1:34 AM to begin extinguishing the fire.

The location was cordoned off, and the fire was fully extinguished by 3:03 AM. Thanks to these efforts, numerous trading points and stalls in the market were able to continue their operations as usual.

The fire was confined to a specific area, and a strong smell of smoke was noticed, but at present, law enforcement officers are on duty in the area. As a result of the incident, some damage was caused, particularly to umbrellas, some of which collapsed, though goods and doors in certain shops remained intact.

According to the information available, a newly established task force has begun accepting claims from citizens, and many traders have stated that they did not suffer any damage. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

Additionally, on the eve of the New Year, measures have been planned to strengthen new systems and safety procedures to ensure smooth trading activity in the market.
