Odilkhon Qori case in court: the list of charges has officially been released

Recently, various reports circulated on social media about the arrest of former imam Odilxon Ismoilov, known as "Odilxon qori." On some pages, it was written that a search warrant had been issued for him. However, the most important aspect surrounding the incident is that it's not about rumors, but about the case being heard in court.
As Kun.uz learned, on January 21, 2026, the Pop District Criminal Court of Namangan region reviewed a criminal case against 6 individuals suspected of economic crimes. Among the suspects in this case is Ismoilov Odilkhon Yunuskhon ugli.
According to the information, the investigative body charged him under 8 articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The essence of the accusations includes a number of episodes related to financial and documentary matters. Specifically:
- embezzlement or misappropriation on an especially large scale, which may have been committed within the framework of an organized group;
- fake entrepreneurship;
- evasion of payment of taxes and other mandatory payments;
- violation of trade or service rules;
- official forgery;
- the production, forgery, sale, or use of documents, stamps, seals, and forms, as well as their seizure or destruction in certain cases.
The press service of the Supreme Court reported that 49-year-old Odilkhon Ismailov and others were charged under these articles, and the case is currently being considered in an open court session in the Pap District Court. Also, 5 out of 6 defendants, including Odilkhon Ismoilov, were taken into custody, and 1 person was given a precautionary measure in the form of bail.
It was also noted that the case was heard under the chairmanship of Judge Adolat Khojayeva, and among the victims were Behzod Ahmedov and Golibjon Urinboyev. Officials stated that additional information will be provided at the end of the trial.
Odilxon qori Yunusxon o'g'li has been widely mentioned as one of the well-known preachers and imams in the Uzbek-speaking segment of social networks in recent decades. He began his work as an imam-khatib at the "Hazrati Umar" Friday mosque in Uchtepa district of Tashkent city in 1998-1999. Later, he worked as the deputy imam at the "Sheikh Zayniddin" mosque, and from 2010, he also served as the deputy chief imam-khatib of Tashkent city. Between 2011-2018, he served as the chief imam-khatib of Shaykhantahur district and imam-khatib of "Sheikh Zayniddin" Friday mosque.
In July 2018, it was reported that he had disseminated unverified information online and was dismissed for health reasons. Later, he headed the Department of Religious and Educational Propaganda at the "Waqf" Charitable Public Foundation under the Religious Administration. In February 2019, he was appointed imam-khatib of the "Khoja Alambardor" mosque, but in September of the same year, he voluntarily resigned due to health problems.
According to the Supreme Court, 49-year-old Odilxon qori Yunusxon o'g'li was born in Namangan region and is the founder of "Rayxon Family National Dishes."
For now, the main point is this: the case is being considered in court, therefore the final conclusion will be determined only by the court decision. Therefore, it is more appropriate to observe any assessments on this topic in a way that relies not on emotions, but on the facts of the formal process and open court session.
