
A court verdict has been issued against a citizen who insulted the president during a live broadcast on the social network TikTok. This person was sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment.
It became known that A.Y., born in the Kitab district of Kashkadarya region and currently residing in the city of Navoi, during a visit to Almaty, Kazakhstan in February 2023, went on a live broadcast on the TikTok platform and insulted the honor and dignity of the head of state. This speech quickly spread on social networks and caused serious discussion among the general public.
After the incident, A.Y. lived in hiding in the territories of Turkey and Azerbaijan and hoped that this case would be forgotten over time. However, as a result of operational-search activities conducted by the Presidential State Security Service, he was detained in Azerbaijan in April 2025.
During the court hearing, the accused expressed remorse for his actions and apologized to the public. In his statement, he expressed regret for the words spoken during the live broadcast and stated that such a situation would not happen again.
According to the court verdict, A.Y. was found guilty under part three of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan and sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment. It was also noted in the court materials that he was previously held liable for theft and hooliganism committed on the territory of Uzbekistan.
