Bodies of three missing tourists found in Almaty mountains

In a mountainous area near the city of Almaty in Kazakhstan, the bodies of three tourists who had previously gone missing were found. This was officially reported by the country’s Ministry of Emergency Situations.

According to the information, on the night of December 26, a call was received by the 112 emergency service from a woman. She reported that her brother and two of his friends had gone to the mountains on the morning of December 24 and had not returned since then. Their mobile phones had been turned off for more than 12 hours.

Following the report, search and rescue operations were immediately launched. Rescuers, police officers, specialists from the Disaster Medicine Center, canine units, and volunteers were involved in the operation. In addition, aerial searches were conducted using drones and a helicopter.

As a result of the search, a body was discovered near the “Lokomotiv” peak at an altitude of 3,700 meters above sea level. The bodies were evacuated by air transport and handed over to law enforcement agencies. A forensic medical examination has been назначена.

After the incident, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan urged citizens to strictly observe safety measures when traveling to mountainous areas. Specialists recommend checking weather conditions and avalanche risks in advance, avoiding solo trips to the mountains, and informing relatives about the route and return time beforehand.
