According to the Khorezm Region Department of Ecology and Climate Change, a citizen who illegally cut saxaul has been held accountable. This was reported by upl.uzreports.
During оперативно-preventive raids carried out by regional environmental officers together with the прокуратура, internal affairs bodies and the National Guard, a man was identified in Khazarasp district who was cutting saxaul and transporting it in a “Labo” vehicle.
A report was drawn up against him under Part 1 of the Code of Administrative Liability—illegal cutting, damaging or destroying trees, shrubs and other plants. As a result, the man was fined 10.3 million soums.
In addition, material compensation of 5.7 million soums is also предусмотрено to be recovered for damage to the plant world. The raids are ongoing.
