McGinn shines with a brace as Aston Villa beat Nottingham Forest in a thriller

In the Premier League’s 20th round, Aston Villa defeated Nottingham Forest 3–1 at home. The hero of the match was John McGinn, who scored twice. This was reported by Kursiv.uz.reports.
From the opening minutes, the hosts took control: Villa dominated possession, increased pressure around the penalty area and created dangerous chances. Forest defended in a low block and rarely ventured forward.
As the first half drew to a close, the pressure paid off in the 45th minute. Youri Tielemans started the move, Morgan Rogers carried it on, and Ollie Watkins struck powerfully from outside the box into the top corner.
After the break, Aston Villa quickly extended their lead: McGinn finished Matty Cash’s cross from the right to make it 2–0. Still, the visitors responded soon after — Morgan Gibbs-White made the most of a one-on-one with the goalkeeper to cut the deficit.
The suspense didn’t last long. McGinn capitalised on a goalkeeper error, calmly slotted into an empty net and completed his brace. In the end, the visitors tried to change the scoreline, but Villa kept the game under control.
