Intrigue fades as Celta Vigo thrash Valencia

In the Matchday 18 fixture of La Liga, Celta beat Valencia 4–1 at home. This was reported by kursiv.uz.reports.
From the start, the hosts looked more proactive: Celta enjoyed more possession, attacks were mainly built down the flanks, and attempts to finish inside the box increased. Valencia responded with counterattacks, but gaps between the lines were noticeable.
In the 33rd minute, Borja Iglesias won a penalty and converted it himself to open the scoring. The tempo dipped slightly near halftime, but the advantage still remained with Celta.
At the start of the second half, Celta quickly extended the lead: Iglesias finished a teammate’s pass to complete his brace. After that, Valencia tried to get back into the game — Pepelu pulled one back with a powerful strike from outside the box.
However, the intrigue did not last long. A mistake in the visitors’ defense led to Celta’s third goal — El-Abdellaui calmly took his one-on-one chance and slotted the ball into the net. In the 90th minute, Hugo Alvarez made the most of the open space to seal the match — 4–1.
