In order to promote the study of the Uzbek language and expand its presence on the international stage, new measures will be implemented in the country. According to the Presidential decree, starting from 2026, a large-scale program will be launched to develop the Uzbek language, improve the teaching system, and increase young people’s interest and love for their native tongue.
The decree states that new-generation Uzbek language textbooks will be developed for schools that teach in related languages. These materials will be based on modern pedagogical approaches and interactive methods. In addition, special methodological guides and educational materials such as “My First Explanatory Dictionary” will be created for preschool institutions.
To further enhance children’s interest in the language, animated, video, and audio content in Uzbek will be produced. Furthermore, national essay competitions, the “Best Uzbek Language Teacher of the Year” contest, and the International Uzbek Language Olympiad named after Alisher Navoi will be held annually.
The most encouraging aspect is that the winners of this Olympiad will be admitted to higher education institutions specializing in philology on a state grant basis, beyond the general admission quota.
Experts note that this initiative not only encourages a deeper study of the native language but also brings young people closer to national culture and spirituality. Moreover, it will help strengthen the prestige of the Uzbek language on the global stage.
These efforts, initiated by the President, aim to make the Uzbek language a strong and respected presence not only in the field of education but also in international scientific and cultural dialogue.
