Emergency Ministry official arrested for bribery

A junior inspector from the Yangihayot district Emergency Situations Department has been arrested in Tashkent for his involvement in a corruption scheme. The State Security Service, in collaboration with the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, conducted a sting operation that led to the official being caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of $1,500.

According to investigators, the official demanded the money from the head of a local company in exchange for signing off on fire safety equipment installation protocols. The suspect allegedly promised to use his influence over colleagues to ensure the documents were processed and approved without further inspection.

Authorities have initiated a criminal case against the individual under charges of fraud and bribery. The court has ordered the suspect to be held in custody while the investigation continues. Law enforcement officials stated that they are committed to rooting out corruption within public service sectors to ensure transparency and safety for all businesses operating in the capital.
