Overtime Payment Regulations Changed in Uzbekistan

The payment system for overtime work in Uzbekistan has been revised, the Ministry of Justice reported. From now on, payment for the first two hours of overtime beyond the daily working hours will be made at 1.5 times the standard rate, and subsequent hours will be paid at double the rate.

Under the previous law, overtime work had to be compensated at a minimum of twice the regular rate. Additionally, the requirement in the Labor Code limiting overtime work to 120 hours per year has been removed.

Private employment agencies have been granted the authority to independently organize courses on trades and foreign languages. They are also allowed to manage income derived from placing reserve funds into bank deposits freely.
