Ban announced on vape sales

Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a law prohibiting the sale of electronic cigarettes and the liquids designed for them. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Justice.

Large-scale production, export, or import of electronic cigarettes will be punishable by fines or imprisonment. The fines can reach up to 500 base calculation amounts (206 million soums).

In addition, violators may face correctional labor for up to three years or imprisonment for up to five years. Similar penalties will apply for repeated violations.

However, if the offender voluntarily contacts law enforcement authorities, confesses, and surrenders the prohibited products, they will be exempted from punishment.
