Abdusattorov qualified for the Freestyle Chess World Championship in Germany

Grandmaster Nodirbek Abdusattorov was selected for the first official FIDE World Championship in Freestyle Chess (Chess960). Now he is preparing to play among the strongest in the world at the prestigious tournament, which will be held in February in Weissenhaus, Germany, on the Baltic coast.

According to sources, Abdusattorov secured the spot through the official Play-In qualifying tournament: the tournament was held on the chess.com platform, and in the final, he defeated Pranava Venkatesh with a score of 2:0. In short, it's not a "coincidence" - it's a victory through honest work and ugly pressure.

The World Championship in Weissenhaus is scheduled for February 13-15. The tournament will consist of 8 participants, and at the moment the lineup is almost fully formed.

The list of stars participating in the World Cup is also very sensational:

- Magnus Carlsen (Norway)

- Levon Aronian (USA)

- Fabiano Caruana (USA)

- Vincent Kaimer (Germany)

- Arjun Erigaysi (India)

- Javokhir Sindarov (Uzbekistan)

- Hans Niemann (USA)

- and now - Nodirbek Abdusattorov (Uzbekistan).

It is noteworthy that the participation of Javokhir Sindarov in this competition is a double joy for Uzbekistan: two Uzbek grandmasters in one tournament - this is already a "school." According to official sources from FIDE and Freestyle Chess, six participants qualified through the results of the 2025 Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour, while the remaining places were filled by the winner of the wild card and Play-In.

Now the most interesting thing is ahead: in Freestyle Chess, a simple debut memorization is not enough - in each game there is a new position, a new problem, a new "brain test." So, Abdusattorov's composure and calculating style can be seen even more vividly in this format. For Uzbek fans, there's only one task: to prepare both prayers and trust - a big stage is starting at Weissenhaus.
