Uzhydromet has issued an urgent warning. Due to expected precipitation and temperature changes from January 16-19, 2026, there is a risk of avalanches in the mountainous regions of the country. Experts note that such sharp weather changes can increase the danger level in mountainous areas.
According to the warning, avalanche danger is declared in the following areas:
-Kashkadarya region: Dehkanabad, Kitab, Kamashi, Shakhrisabz districts;
-Surkhandarya region: Boysun, Kumkurgan, Sariosiyo, Uzun districts;
-Samarkand region: Nurabad, Kushrabat, Samarkand, Urgut districts;
-Jizzakh region: Bakhmal, Zaamin districts;
-Tashkent region: Bostanlyk, Parkent, Akhangaran districts (Chatkal mountain range);
-Namangan region: Pop district.
In light of this, residents of mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers traveling in mountainous regions are urged to take precautionary measures. The importance of strictly adhering to safety requirements is emphasized, especially when traveling on mountain roads, visiting recreational areas, and spending time at high altitudes.
