How many foreign companies operate in Uzbekistan

As of January 1, 2025, the number of enterprises with foreign investment participation in Uzbekistan reached a significant level — a total of 18,164 such entities operate nationwide. This figure reflects foreign capital’s interest in the economy and momentum in the business environment.
According to the National Statistics Committee, 4,247 of these are joint ventures, while 13,917 are foreign-owned enterprises. In other words, foreign companies make up the largest share overall.
Notably, over the past five years, the number of enterprises with foreign capital participation has increased by 1.9 times. This growth is naturally felt not only in the figures, but also in market competition, new jobs, and a wider range of services.
Top 10: which countries account for the most companies?
According to statistics, the top 10 countries by the number of enterprises with foreign investment participation in Uzbekistan are as follows:

- Russia — 3,181
- Türkiye — 2,137
- Kazakhstan — 1,212
- South Korea — 693
- Afghanistan — 635
- UAE — 414
- Tajikistan — 389
- India — 375
- USA — 340
The list shows that Uzbekistan’s “investment map” is highly diverse: neighboring countries, Asian giants, as well as Middle Eastern and Western nations are all actively involved.
In conclusion, more than 18,000 investment-backed enterprises are not just statistics. They signal new technologies, new ways of working, new partnerships, and economic revitalization. The key task now is to improve quality behind the numbers: ensuring companies produce goods, focus on exports, and help strengthen local talent.
