European military personnel arrive in Greenland
Denmark and several European countries are sending small military groups to Greenland. This is part of NATO exercises aimed at strengthening security in the region.

France, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, the Netherlands, and the UK have sent personnel to Greenland. The French contingent initially has 15 people and will soon be reinforced with land, air, and sea forces. The exercises show NATO allies’ presence.

US President Donald Trump said Greenland is strategically important and should remain under US control. He did not rule out the use of force but said a solution with Denmark could be found.

Greenland’s Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen said the island does not want to be under US control and will stay part of Denmark and NATO. The exercises aim to strengthen Arctic security and improve joint defense capabilities with allies.
