In Uzbekistan, small-scale solar panels with a total capacity of 2,000 MW have been installed in the private sector, residential homes, and social institutions. This has allowed for the production of nearly 2 billion kWh of "green" energy since the beginning of 2025, stated Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Additionally, 69,000 kilometers of power lines, 14,000 transformers, and high-voltage substations were upgraded across the regions. Furthermore, businesses supplied $700 million worth of construction materials, cables, and electrical equipment for new power plants and networks.
The private sector carried out project and construction works. Notably, the first hydroelectric power station of the Naryn cascade, with a capacity of 38 MW, was launched using locally produced materials.
The president emphasized that the country's construction, electrical engineering, and service enterprises have the potential to become major national companies of international standards. He specifically pointed out the prospects of the Angren Energo plant, which can produce 15,000 transformers annually.
Moreover, the Uzbekgidroenergo plant is designed to manufacture 155 hydro units per year.
