Letter from Trump to Mirziyoyev: Will Uzbekistan join the "Peace Council"?

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received an official invitation from US President Donald Trump to join the international initiative aimed at strengthening peace and resolving conflicts in the Middle East. According to local sources, Uzbekistan has been invited to join the new structure - the "Council of Peace" (Board of Peace / Peace Council) as a founding state.

The letter states that the initiative was based on the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Strip, announced on September 29, 2025, and was approved by UN Security Council Resolution No. 2803 of November 17, 2025.

According to the plan, the "Peace Council" aims to unite countries ready to share responsibility for ensuring long-term peace, stability, and security. Reuters also wrote that within the framework of the Trump initiative, proposals were sent to various heads of state, and the structure could initially focus on Gaza and then expand.

According to official reports, President Mirziyoyev sent a response letter to Trump, stating that Uzbekistan is ready to join as a founder and assessed this initiative as an important step in mitigating long-standing conflicts in the region and contributing to stability.
