In Uzbekistan, administrative liability has been established for the illegal processing and dissemination of personal data using artificial intelligence technologies. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Justice.
According to the new rules, individuals who process or disseminate citizens' personal data through the internet, mass media, or telecommunications networks without their consent will be fined from 20,600,000 to 41,200,000 soums. At the same time, the technical devices used in the offense will be confiscated.
The legislation also strictly establishes that important decisions concerning human rights and freedoms cannot be made solely based on conclusions drawn by artificial intelligence systems.
These changes are aimed at ensuring reliable protection of personal data, as well as the legal and responsible use of artificial intelligence technologies.
