According to Uzhydromet, due to the expected precipitation and changes in air temperature on January 21-26, 2026, there is a risk of avalanches in the mountainous regions of the republic. Therefore, specialists urge residents and road users to take precautions.
According to the warning, the risk of avalanches may be high in the following areas:
-Dehkanabad, Kitab, Kamashi, Shakhrisabz districts of Kashkadarya region;
-Boysun, Kumkurgan, Sariosiyo, and Uzun districts of Surkhandarya region;
-Nurabad, Koshrabad, Samarkand, and Urgut districts of Samarkand region;
-Bakhmal and Zaamin districts of Jizzakh region;
-Bostanlyk, Parkent, and Akhangaran districts of Tashkent region (especially around the Chatkal mountain range);
-Pop district of Namangan region.
Uzhydromet recommends that citizens living in mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers traveling on mountain roads take precautions, avoid dangerous routes, or choose a safer route.
