Uzbekistan to Expand Cooperation with Korean Companies
Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister, Jamshid Khodjayev, has announced expectations for South Korean companies to actively participate in major projects within the country. According to Yonhap News Agency, Khodjayev expressed these views during his visit to South Korea.

“I hope that the cooperation between the two countries will further expand in the fields of supply chains, renewable energy sources, infrastructure/transport, and information technologies,” Khodjayev said. He noted that currently, more than 680 Uzbek-Korean joint ventures operate in Uzbekistan.

Additionally, due to ongoing reforms in the country, the economy has doubled over the past eight years. It has been reported that South Korea will participate in the construction of a new international airport in Tashkent.

The airport is scheduled to be operational by 2029. Furthermore, Hyundai Rotem company will supply high-speed trains worth $198 million and provide training for Uzbek specialists in managing and maintaining these trains.

As for trade volume between the two countries, by the beginning of 2025, this figure has surpassed $1.4 billion. South Korea is among Uzbekistan's top five trading partners.
