The Russian military has begun to switch to horses due to the large losses of armored vehicles on the battlefield. This was reported by Forbes.
According to journalists, the losses of Russian equipment in Ukraine have exceeded 15 thousand. The production of new equipment is lagging behind. The reserves of old equipment from the Cold War era were exhausted by the end of 2024. This forced some Russian military personnel to finally switch to horses.
“Russian mechanized regiments are losing 6,000 armored vehicles a year. This is much more than Russian factories can replace. Russia produces about 200 new BMP-3 combat vehicles and 90 new T-90M tanks a year, as well as other new armored vehicles, including the BTR-82 combat vehicle,” the report says.
This “de-mechanization” is making Russian infantry vulnerable to Ukrainian artillery. Journalists say this does not mean that Russia is losing the war, as Ukraine is also facing serious difficulties.
“The Russian army is suffering heavy losses. However, they continue to advance in many directions, where Ukraine's defenses are weakened due to lack of manpower, and Russia has concentrated its superior forces in these areas," the journalists said. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
