North Korea pledges victory in fight against the US
North Korean leader Kim Jong In declared that the country will surely win the "anti-imperialist, anti-U.S." struggle as it marked the anniversary of the Korean War armistice.

Kim made the statement during a visit to a military museum dedicated to the 1950–1953 Korean War. He emphasized that the country will continue to strengthen its military capabilities and become a "wealthy country with a strong army."

The Korean War and "Victory Day"
On July 27, 1953, a ceasefire agreement was signed with representatives from the U.S. and China, officially ending the war. Throughout the conflict, both sides advanced and retreated across the Korean Peninsula multiple times. According to the agreement, Korea was divided into North and South.

North Korea celebrates the date annually as “Victory Day.” South Korea does not hold official events but veterans are commemorated at U.S. memorials.

South Korea-U.S. alliance growing stronger
At a commemorative event in Washington, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung pledged to further strengthen the strategic alliance with the United States.

“We will expand cooperation in politics, security, economy, and culture, strengthening the blood-forged South Korea-U.S. alliance. Through this, we will strive to protect freedom and peace on the Korean Peninsula,” the president said.

North Korea’s growing cooperation with Russia
According to South Korean officials, North Korea has sent thousands of military personnel to Russia, particularly to the Kursk region. It is also reported that Pxenyan supplied Russia with munitions. More troops may be sent in the coming months.

Kim Jong In also visited several memorials honoring war veterans, including the “Tower of Friendship” built in tribute to Chinese soldiers. He met with artillery units and commemorated the historic date.
