BBC Director-General Tim Davie has resigned from his position due to controversies surrounding Donald Trump's speech. This was reported by the Daily Mail.
Alongside Davie, the head of the company's news department, Deborah Turness, also resigned. The controversy was caused by the misediting of footage from Trump's January 6, 2021, speech featured in the BBC's Panorama program.
As a result of this editing, Trump was seemingly portrayed as urging his supporters to march towards the Capitol and "fight with all their might." Tim Davie stated that he takes full responsibility for these errors.
Donald Trump, on the other hand, welcomed Davie's resignation on the Truth Social platform, calling him a "very unfair person." Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
