Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan from November 19 to 22, CGTN reported.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi is visiting Central Asia at the invitation of the foreign ministers of these countries. During the discussions, the parties will address issues of cooperation and exchange views on regional and international agenda matters.
"China believes this visit will facilitate the full implementation of the conclusions of the second China-Central Asia Summit and the agreements reached between Chinese President Xi Jinping and the presidents of the three countries," stated the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press release. It was noted that under the leadership of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, relations between Uzbekistan and China have reached a new stage.
It is worth noting that in the first nine months of 2023, China became Uzbekistan's main trading partner. The trade turnover between the two countries surpassed $11.4 billion.
Last year, this figure amounted to $9 billion.
