Wave of statements in the world following Maduro's arrest

The news of Nicolas Maduro's arrest sparked heated discussions in the international arena. Different countries and political circles reacted differently to this event: some condemned the actions of the USA, others approved Maduro's removal from power. That is, one event - two different worldviews.
Spain: "dangerous precedent"
On Monday, the Spanish government openly criticized the US for the operation in Venezuela. In an interview with Cadena SER radio station, the country's Foreign Minister, Jose Manuel Albares, stated that the actions taken in Venezuela contradict international law and create a "very dangerous precedent."
He didn't stop there: Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez also condemned Washington's move. According to him, this action is reminiscent of the decisions that led to serious situations in Ukraine and Palestine. The Spanish leadership is concerned that such practices will negatively impact the global order.
There are many Venezuelans in Spain
The topic is not unfamiliar to the Spanish public either. Because about 600,000 Venezuelan immigrants live in the country. Most of them left their homeland due to economic hardship and social problems. Therefore, any political shift around Maduro is also watched with interest and caution in Spain.
There are also different views in Spanish politics
Interestingly, the conservative camp in Spain - representatives of the People's Party - welcomed Maduro's removal from power. However, they also did not hide the fact that there are questions regarding the legality and legal basis of the "arrest" process. That is, even those who rejoiced did not ignore the issue of "legal purity."
China and Iran: "liberate"
Venezuela's key allies, China and Iran, have called on the US to release Maduro and his wife, Celia Flores.
The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on January 5 assessed the actions of the US as a blatant violation of international law and the basic rules governing international relations. Beijing considers this work a dangerous direction.
Tehran is also in a tense position: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Bakoi condemned US practices and demanded the release of Maduro and his wife. He called this "not a cause for pride," but an "illegal act."
Conclusion
Global reactions following Maduro's arrest demonstrate this: the issue is not limited to Venezuela alone. This event further invigorated the old debates about international law, state sovereignty, and the influence of large powers. Now the main question is - how far will this wave reach and which countries will stand on which side.
