On 9 January, weather typical for the winter season is expected across Uzbekistan, but it will remain relatively calm and dry. According to Uzhydromet, no precipitation is expected across the country, and fog may be recorded in some places.
In Tashkent, the weather will be variable during the day. No precipitation is expected, but fog is not excluded during the night and morning hours. The wind will blow from the east at 3–8 m/s. The temperature will be 0 to –2°C at night and +9 to +12°C during the day.
In the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Khorezm region, the weather will also be stable. No precipitation is expected, and fog may appear in some areas. The wind will blow from the east at 7–12 m/s. The temperature will be –3 to –8°C at night and +3 to +8°C during the day.
In the Bukhara and Navoi regions, the days will be dry. Fog may be observed in some places. At night, the air will cool down to 0 to –5°C, and during the day it is forecast to be +7 to +12°C.
In the Samarkand, Jizzakh, Syrdarya and Tashkent regions, no precipitation is expected either. Foggy hours are possible. The temperature will be 0 to –5°C at night and +7 to +12°C during the day.
In the Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions, daytime temperatures will be slightly higher. In some areas, the air may warm up to +10 to +14°C.
In the Ferghana Valley regions, the weather will also be calm. Fog is possible. The temperature will be 0 to –5°C at night and +5 to +10°C during the day.
In the mountainous areas of the republic, the weather will be variable, with no precipitation expected. At night it will be –3 to –8°C, and during the day +2 to +7°C.
Overall, no sharp cold is expected on 9 January. Despite the middle of winter, the days are forecast to be relatively warm and comfortable. However, drivers are asked to be cautious during foggy periods.
