On the Roblox gaming platform, users will now be required to verify their age to send messages in chats. The service’s CEO David Baszucki announced this in a video posted on Roblox’s official account.
According to him, more than half of users in New Zealand and Australia have already completed verification. Globally, tens of millions of players have confirmed their details.
The goal of the update is to make in-game communication safer. Two age-verification options are being offered: from age 13, uploading an image of a passport or another photo ID, or completing a check via facial recognition technology.
