
The White House has declared Central Asia as a new priority in U.S. foreign policy. This was announced by John Herbst, Director of the Atlantic Council's Eurasia Center, during the first forum of U.S. and Azerbaijani analytical centers.
In this regard, Washington is supporting the expansion of the C5+1 platform to the C6+1 format with Azerbaijan's participation. According to Herbst, the decision by regional states at the Tashkent summit to invite Azerbaijan to the C6 format demonstrates Baku's growing role in regional politics.
