The Financial Times piece also offers another hypothesis: in theory, Washington could persuade 57,000 Greenlanders by offering them US passports and $1 million each.
It is noted that the topic of the US “buying” Greenland has returned to the agenda. White House leader Donald Trump stressed that the US would “achieve its goal,” claiming that Greenlanders are supposedly interested in closer ties with America.
