3I/ATLAS Approaching Earth

3I/ATLAS Approaching Earth
On November 23, the interstellar object named 3I/ATLAS approached Earth to a distance of 300 million kilometers. This was reported by the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The comet continues to get closer to Earth each day. According to scientists, this phenomenon is related to Earth's position being in a direction close to the trajectory of 3I/ATLAS.

The next distance milestone is 200 million kilometers. “After that, perhaps we should prepare banners saying, ‘Welcome, honorable visitors,’” the researchers joked.

Calculations indicate that by December 19, the comet will come as close as 269 million kilometers to Earth, and then it will start moving away. However, astronomers emphasized that 3I/ATLAS poses no threat to Earth.
