Death toll in Hong Kong fire reaches 65
The South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported that the death toll from the fire at the Wang Fuk Court residential complex in Hong Kong has reached 65. Approximately 70 people are currently undergoing treatment in the hospital.

According to government officials, the rapid spread of the fire was caused by flammable polystyrene materials used during renovation work. Police have detained three employees of the contracting organization on suspicion of negligence and mismanagement leading to the loss of lives.

So far, contact has not been established with approximately 280 people, and search operations are ongoing. The Hong Kong government has ordered an immediate inspection of all state residential complexes under renovation across the country.
