
In the city of Angers, France, Kamilla Rakhimova defeated German tennis player Tamara Korpatsch in the final of the WTA 125 Open Angers Loire Trélazé tournament. The match, which lasted two sets, concluded with scores of 6–3 and 7–6.
The match took 2 hours and 23 minutes. In the first set, Rakhimova demonstrated a confident performance.
At a 2–2 score, the players exchanged victories, but Rakhimova moved ahead with a 3–2 lead, later achieving a break and recording a 5–3 score. Successfully converting her set point, Rakhimova finished the first set at 6–3.
The second set was far more competitive. Korpatsch started with her serve, but Rakhimova achieved a break in the very first game.
In the following games, both players held their serves, recording scores like 1–1, 2–2, and 3–3. Later, Korpatsch achieved a break to take a 5–3 lead.
Rakhimova made a comeback, tying the score at 5–5 and once again breaking her opponent's serve to take a 6–5 lead. Korpatsch equalized to force a tiebreak.
In the deciding moments, Rakhimova played with composure, securing victory in the tiebreak and finishing the second set at 7–6. Earlier in the semifinals, Rakhimova defeated second-seeded Croatian player Antonia Ružić in a closely fought match — 4–6, 6–3, 7–5.
This match lasted for 3 hours and 9 minutes. At the end of November, it was announced that Rakhimova had changed her sporting citizenship and would represent Uzbekistan instead of Russia.
However, the Uzbekistan flag was not displayed next to her name in the match protocol. The Open Angers Loire Trélazé tournament is played on hard courts and is part of the WTA 125 series.
