A $5,000 fine introduced for illegal migrants in the US

The United States Border Patrol has announced the introduction of a new fine of $5,000 for illegal migrants. This measure has been approved as part of President Donald Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" and will be implemented in addition to previous penalties.

According to Michael Banks, the head of the Border Patrol, the fine will apply to all individuals over the age of 14 who enter the U.S. without official inspection, regardless of their current location or immigration process status. The law also includes significant funding, amounting to $170 billion, to strengthen migration control.

Officials noted that during Trump's second presidential term, the number of illegal border crossings dropped to the lowest levels since 1970. Earlier, it was reported that migrants with deportation orders who refused to leave the country could face a daily fine of $1,000.

By August, the number of such fines reportedly reached 21,500, with a total amount estimated at approximately $6.1 billion.
