Moldova has canceled the visa-free regime established under the 1992 Bishkek Agreement with CIS countries. However, citizens of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan can still travel to Moldova without a visa as before.
On the other hand, citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will now need to obtain a visa. The Moldovan parliament explained this decision as part of a review of participation in CIS institutions and a necessity to align national legislation with European Union requirements.
Nevertheless, the visa-free regime remains in place on the basis of bilateral agreements between Moldova and several CIS countries, including Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
