Help Is on the Way: Donald Trump Addresses Iranian Protesters

U.S. President Donald Trump urged citizens taking part in street protests in Iran to keep the demonstrations going. In a statement posted on Truth Social, he encouraged protesters to take control of state institutions and promised support. This was reported by kursiv.uz. reports .
In his post, Trump called on “Iranian patriots” to stay resolute, remember the names of those guilty of violence and the “tormentors,” and said they would “pay a heavy price.” He also said he had canceled all meetings with Iranian officials until the “senseless killings” of protesters stop, adding that “help is already on the way.”
A day earlier, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the country is ready for any move by the United States, including a military scenario.
Protests across Iran began on December 28, 2025, at Tehran’s “Grand Bazaar” amid the national currency’s devaluation and economic hardship. The rallies soon spread to other cities, with reports of hundreds injured in clashes with police and Basij units.
On January 8, the situation escalated further, with reports that protesters set fire to buses, ambulances, homes, mosques, hospitals, and banks. In response, the government restricted internet access nationwide.
