Ignatev urged Russia to learn from Spain’s football experience

Former Russia national team head coach Boris Ignatev praised Spain’s system for training and developing footballers. According to the expert, Russia should study the Spaniards’ experience in this area more seriously. This was reported by euro-football.ru reports .

Ignatev noted that in Spain coaches have developed a clear methodology and practical frameworks, which is delivering results. He stressed that Russian football needs to identify elements of this experience that fit real-life conditions.

Over the past 20 years, Spain’s national team has won the European Championship three times, lifted the World Cup once, and also won the Nations League. The Spaniards have also achieved a number of successes in youth and junior football.

Over the same period, Russia won bronze medals at the European Championship, took gold and bronze at the U17 European Championship, and had to settle for silver at the U19 tournament.
