Donald Trump Intervenes in Iran’s Internal Affairs

US President Donald Trump called on Iranians to continue protests and said help is on the way. Trump also said he canceled all meetings with Iranian officials until deaths at the protests stop.
The protests began on December 28 due to the fall of the national currency and later expanded to wider political demands. According to official data, about 2,000 people have died, but the exact breakdown of who died is not known.
Foreign countries have reacted. Russia condemned US military threats. The German Chancellor predicted that the Iranian government may fall soon. The Iranian minister rejected the criticism and criticized Germany.
Trump also announced a 25% import tariff on products from countries trading with Iran. Meanwhile, the Iranian government is restricting internet and phone access, and some protesters are being arrested.
