Strong flare occurred on the Sun

Today, March 30, the Sun experienced the highest-level flare for the first time in the last two months. This was reported by the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
According to the laboratory, an “X-level (highest score) flare” occurred. This is the first such event observed since February 4, 2026, i.e., almost two months.
The event is the second significant one after the plasma ejection recorded on March 28. The newly ejected plasma cloud is already visible in images coming from space. According to calculations, the main part of the plasma cloud is directed outward, but some of its edge parts may reach the Earth.
Earlier, the laboratory noted that a large plasma ejection on the Sun could affect the Moon mission planned more than half a century ago. NASA’s Artemis II mission is scheduled to start on April 1. During this mission, four astronauts will orbit the far side of the Moon without landing and return to Earth. This is the first controlled flight to the satellite since 1972. The mission will last about ten days.
