One third of international car sales in 2024 were carried out in China. The second and third places in this regard were occupied by the USA and India.
Leading countries in passenger car sales

Last year, passenger car sales decreased in countries such as Japan, Germany, and France, while they increased sharply in countries such as China, India, and Brazil.
Best-selling car brands

Last year, BYD car sales increased by almost 27 percent. Chevrolet (+8.2 percent), Mercedes (+5.8 percent) and Toyota (+3.4 percent) also saw significant growth in sales. In turn, Ford (-3.7 percent), Honda (-2.1 percent) and Volkswagen (-0.6 percent) saw sales decline.
Best-selling car models

In 2024, the Tesla Model Y was the best-selling electric car in the world. 1.15 million units of this electric car were purchased.
The second place was taken by the Toyota Corolla. 1.13 million units of this model were purchased last year. It is noteworthy that two more Toyota models entered the top 10. In particular, in 2024, the Toyota RAV4 model was ranked third (sales -1.02 million units), and the Toyota Camry was ranked eighth (sales -580 thousand). In 2024, 10 out of every 100 cars sold were manufactured by Toyota.
The fourth and fifth places were occupied by the Ford F-Series (sales -900 thousand units) and Honda CR-V (sales -740 thousand units).
Car sales in the last 10 years
The highest number of car sales in the last 10 years was observed in 2017 - 94.5 million units. Although car sales increased significantly last year, this figure remains low compared to the pre-pandemic period.

2017 - 94.5 million units;
2018 - 94 million units;
2019 - 90.1 million units;
2020 - 77.6 million units;
2021 - 81.1 million units;
2022 - 80.4 million units;

2024 - 88.2 million units.
Automobile Industry of Uzbekistan
According to the Statistics Committee, 424,808 passenger cars were produced in Uzbekistan in 2024. The most produced models in this regard are:
- Cobalt - 164,887 units;
- Damas – 101,902 units;
- Tracker – 45,918 units.
Last year, the number of cars sold in the country amounted to 402,391 units. During the reporting period, UzAuto Motors delivered 353,730 units, ADM Jizzakh 30,329 units, BYD Uzbekistan Factory 17,132 units, Asaka Motors 489 units, Jizzakh Auto 394 units, and SamAuto 317 units to buyers.
The share of enterprises in the domestic market in 2024 is as follows:
- UzAuto Motors – 87.9 percent;
- ADM Jizzakh – 7.5 percent;
- BYD Uzbekistan Factory – 4.3 percent;
- Jizzakh Auto – 0.1 percent;
- Asaka Motors – 0.1 percent;
- SamAuto – 0.1 percent.
The best-selling car is the Cobalt. Last year, 127,240 units of this model were sold. Next in line were the Damas (106,001 units) and Tracker (37,903 units).
