It was found that more than half of the population of Uzbekistan is able-bodied

According to the State Statistics Committee, as of July 1, 2025, Uzbekistan’s population reached 37.9 million. Analysis shows that 56% of the population, or 21.2 million people, are of working age.

Those below working age number 12.2 million (32.2%), providing a reserve for future labor force growth. Those above working age make up 4.5 million (11.8%).

Experts note that a high share of working-age population is a key factor for economic growth, job creation, and domestic market development. However, it also adds pressure on infrastructure and social services.

It is recommended to develop the labor market, expand professional training programs, and introduce innovative technologies through cooperation between the state and the private sector.
