Rolls-Royce plans to supply energy for artificial intelligence and become one of the largest companies in the UK. The company has signed major agreements on small modular nuclear reactors (SMR — small modular nuclear reactors, compact devices designed for energy production).
SMR units will power artificial intelligence centers that require large amounts of energy. Rolls-Royce plans to build six reactors in the Czech Republic and three in the UK.
So far, this technology has not undergone full practical testing. Nevertheless, companies like Google, Microsoft, and Meta have already ordered SMR energy in the US.
Currently, Rolls-Royce mainly produces aircraft engines. Now the company also wants to enter the narrow-body aircraft market, which is valued at $1.6 trillion.
Since the arrival of a new CEO in 2023, the company has grown rapidly. Debts have decreased, profits have increased, and the share price has risen tenfold.
