The number of cars increased by almost half a million in one year

In Uzbekistan, it has once again been confirmed that the number of vehicles moving on the roads is increasing year by year. As of July 1, 2025, it was reported that a total of 4 million 612.7 thousand vehicles are registered in the ownership of individuals in the country. This figure indicates that the country’s vehicle fleet is significantly expanding.

The largest share, undoubtedly, is made up of passenger cars — they account for about 93 percent of all vehicles in the general registry, or 4 million 289.0 thousand units. From these numbers, it is clear that the passenger car remains the main choice of the population to meet personal auto-life needs.

The remaining part is occupied by vehicles intended for cargo transportation. In particular, the number of trucks amounts to 302.6 thousand units. At the same time, minibuses — 7.7 thousand, special vehicles — 7.3 thousand, and buses — 6.1 thousand units have been recorded. These figures show that in the country not only the personal but also the service and public transport capacity is developing.

Compared to the same period of 2024, within one year the number of vehicles increased by 441.5 thousand. This reflects the growing demand for the purchase of new cars in the domestic market, the expansion of the population’s economic capabilities, as well as the active turnover in the automotive and motorcycle transport sector.

Experts note that such a rapid increase in the number of cars also puts certain pressure on infrastructure. Roads, parking spaces, and road traffic safety systems must be modernized accordingly. At the same time, it is important that the incoming new vehicles meet environmental requirements.

According to analysts, if this trend continues at the same pace, in the near future the number of vehicles in the country may increase by several hundred thousand more. This can also be assessed as one of the indicators of economic development.

In conclusion, it can be said that the annual increase in the number of personal and service vehicles in Uzbekistan confirms not only the purchasing power of the population for cars but also the rapid development of the country’s transport sector.
