In recent days, attacks in Gaza have intensified. According to the Hamas-run Ministry of Health, at least 123 people were killed in one day. Gaza City's Zeitun district was hit the hardest, with dozens of civilians, including children, killed.
Netanyahu stressed that the war would not end until all hostages were returned. According to Israel, of the 251 people taken hostage during the October 7 attack, 50 remain in Gaza, 20 of them alive. Egypt and Qatar are preparing a new proposal to end the war in exchange for the release of all hostages.
Hamas is demanding an exchange of hostages for Palestinian prisoners and a full withdrawal of Israeli forces. The UN warns that the risk of famine in Gaza has sharply increased and that the forced displacement of the population violates international law.
