According to our weekly analysis of exchange rates published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, during the 3rd working week of August 2025, the exchange rate of 1 US dollar against the national currency — the soum — decreased by 11.08 soums.
Weekly dynamics
The dollar-to-soum exchange rate underwent certain fluctuations during the week. In particular, a sharp drop was observed in the first half of the week:
Monday: +79.04 soums
Tuesday: -83.46 soums
Wednesday: -79.52 soums
The decline on these days may be related to dynamics in international markets, import-export operations, and changes in domestic demand.
In the second half of the week, an increase in the rate was recorded:
Thursday: -12.08 soums
Friday: +84.22 soums
As a result, the overall weekly change of 1 US dollar was positive for the national currency, ending with a decrease of 11.08 soums.
The Central Bank forms exchange rates based on market mechanisms and strives to maintain stability in economic processes. Such fluctuations in the exchange rate are viewed as an indicator of the global economic environment, foreign trade volume, and the level of domestic economic activity.
