The intrigue in the Azerbaijani championship has ended early. Umarali Rahmonaliyev, who plays for “Sabah,” became the country’s champion together with his team.
It has emerged that the main rival, “Qarabag,” lost 1–2 to “Neftchi,” which decided the fate of the title race. Following this result, “Sabah” pulled away from its competitors and secured the gold medals in advance.
Currently, the team has 72 points and is firmly leading with a 13-point gap over its nearest pursuer. This means that regardless of the results in the remaining rounds, the championship has already been decided.
By the way, the “Owls” will play their next match on May 3 against “Shamakhi.” Now these matches are mostly of formal significance for the team.
