The price of a 5-gram gold bar in Uzbekistan has reached a record high of 8.8 million soums. This was reported based on data from the Central Bank as of December 23.
The price of a 10-gram gold bar is 17.7 million soums, while a 20-gram bar costs 35.4 million soums. The price of a 50-gram gold bar has surpassed 88.6 million soums, and a 100-gram bar is priced at 177.3 million soums.
This increase in gold prices is connected to a rise in the value of precious metals. On December 22, the price of one ounce of gold exceeded $4,400.
The surge is attributed to geopolitical and trade tensions. Additionally, the depreciation of the US dollar has increased the appeal of gold for foreign investors.
As of the morning of December 23, the price of one ounce of gold stood at $4,485. Since the beginning of the year, the price of gold has risen by 70.1 percent.
