A search of a villa in France belonging to the former Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Svyatoslav Piskun, revealed a large quantity of valuables. This was reported by "Zerkalo Nedeli" on December 22nd.
According to information, during a search conducted by law enforcement agencies, about 3 kilograms of gold bars, a collection of expensive watches belonging to famous brands, and a large amount of cash were found. Journalists estimate that the total value of these items exceeds 1 million euros.
Sources note that the former prosecutor could not prove the origin of these valuables, the sources of their acquisition, and the legality of their import into France. For this reason, a criminal case has been initiated under the article on the legalization of criminal proceeds (money laundering).
Earlier, it was reported that on December 18, Piskun was detained during an investigation in France. This case is attracting the attention of the general public against the backdrop of the escalating corruption scandal in Ukraine in recent months.
